DISES organizes
International Round Table “Including All Children in a Changing World”. It will unite 70 experts from 9 countries on 5 continents.
The event will be opened with a special ceremony at which will be given the DISES Teacher Award and the DISES Distinguished Leadership Award.
The Teacher Award recognizes a preschool and school teacher who currently provides direct services to children and students with disabilities, and/or is working with the host country or region of the DISES-CEC international conference. His or her work should reflect significant educational success for students, continued professional development, and the highest standards of educational quality.
The Distinguished Leadership Award recognizes a professional who has demonstrated distinguished international leadership for his or her contribution to the field of special education.
Forum’s participants will discuss different subjects related to inclusive education comprising inclusive classroom practices, advocacy, effective leadership for innovative and inclusive strategies, family partnership, teachers’ partnership practices etc.
The representatives of Centre for Inclusive Education Iva Boneva, Dimitar Lazarov, Programmes Director and Desislava Koleva-Stanislowsky, Training and Development Specialist will talk about the Bulgarian experience on the way to inclusive education and will present the First Bulgarian Model for organisation of school processes to build inclusive school environments, created especially for the Bulgarian environment in partnership with five schools from the country and the Faculty of Education at University of Washington, Seattle within the One School for All Programme.
The forum’s guests will spend on June 29th, 2017, Thursday one active day in Georgi Benkovsy Secondary School, Teteven, where they will participate in thematic workshops.
